What is Urban Tales?
Urban Tales is a self-guided urban adventure that combines exploring a city with clues, puzzles, anecdotes and a light narrative thread. You explore the city, follow the route and discover things along the way.
Is Urban Tales a guided tour?
No. Urban Tales is self-guided, so there is no guide leading you through the city. You explore the route independently and at your own pace.
Who is it for?
Urban Tales is for curious travellers, couples, families and groups of friends who want to explore a city in a different way. You don’t need to be an experienced gamer or know the city beforehand.
Do I need to be good at puzzles?
Not at all. Puzzles are part of the experience, but you don’t need any particular skills or previous experience with games.
Do I need to know the city before playing?
No. The experience is designed to work whether it’s your first visit or you already know the city.
How long does the experience last?
The duration varies depending on the experience. You’ll find the expected playing time on each individual experience page.
How many people can play together?
Each Urban Tales experience is designed for a maximum of 5 players per team, which is the format we recommend. For groups of more than five, we suggest splitting into several teams and turning the experience into a friendly competition.
You can play with more than five people around a single phone, but the experience is designed for small groups so that everyone can take part.
Is it suitable for children?
Children aged 8 and over should be able to enjoy the game fully. They will be involved and challenged during the experience and will definitely remember this visit.
Do I need to book a specific time?
No. Urban Tales is self-guided and there is no fixed start time. Once you have your access details, you can start when it suits you.
After you book
What do I receive after booking?
You’ll receive everything you need by email to access the game, install the app and get started, including the information for your starting point.
Do I need to download an app?
Yes. The game is played through the Urban Tales app. You’ll receive the instructions you need to install it after booking
Do I need to print anything?
No. Everything is digital and can be accessed from your smartphone.
When can I start playing?
Once you have received your booking information and are ready to head to the starting point. There is no fixed start time.
How long is my booking valid?
Each reservation is valid for one year from purchase and can be used once
What if I don’t receive the email?
First, check your spam or junk folder. If you still can’t find it, contact us and we’ll help you get access to your game.
Playing the game
What do I need to play?
You need a smartphone with enough battery for the duration of the experience. You’ll also need both GPS and an internet connection.
Where does the game start?
Each experience has a specific starting point, clearly indicated on its product page. You’ll also receive the information you need to get there by email after booking.
Can we pause and come back later?
Absolutely. You can pause the game whenever you like. The experience can be spread over several days. The app keeps track of your progress, so you can pick up where you left off.
What if we get stuck?
Some puzzles include hints to help you. And if you can’t solve a question, you can simply move on to the next one — you won’t be blocked from continuing the game.
Is Urban Tales mainly about solving puzzles?
No. Puzzles are one part of the experience. Urban Tales is also about exploring the city, noticing architectural details, discovering anecdotes and learning things you might not come across during a normal visit.
Will we learn about the city?
Yes. The experiences combine history, culture, architecture and local anecdotes, researched specifically for each route and connected to the places you visit.

Can you organise a private game for a company?
Absolutely. Your team can enjoy a private Urban Tales experience, exclusively reserved for your company.
Why is Urban Tales suitable for our corporate team building?
Our urban experiences are designed to encourage communication, collaboration and team spirit. For team building events, our team will work with you to tailor the experience to your group and objectives.
How many people can participate in a corporate game?
Up to 500 people can play together in the same game. We recommend teams of around 5 people, so a large group can enjoy the experience together while competing across multiple teams.
Can multiple teams compete against each other?
Absolutely! The game is designed for teams to compete against each other, making it a fun and engaging challenge for the whole group.
Can we customise the experience for our company?
Yes. We can tailor different aspects of the experience to your needs, including the format, challenges and specific elements related to your team or event.
